Kolkata, Mar 08: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the inclusion of his image in COVID-19 vaccination certificates saying that the “day wasn’t far when the nation shall be named after him”.
“The prime minister has named a stadium after him. He has put his images on COVID-19 vaccination certificates. A day will come when the nation shall be named after him,” Banerjee mentioned whereas addressing a rally on the event of Worldwide Ladies’s Day.
The West Bengal Chief Minister additional attacked PM Modi accusing him of “spreading lies and canards” towards the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal. She mentioned voters, this time, would witness the ‘Didi versus BJP’ struggle in all 294 constituencies of the poll-bound state.
“They (BJP leaders) will come to Bengal solely throughout elections and unfold canards and lies. He’s lecturing us on ladies’s security. What’s the state of affairs of girls in BJP-ruled states? What’s the state of affairs in Modi’s favorite Gujarat?” the Bengal chief minister mentioned.
The TMC and BJP are at loggerheads forward of Meeting polls in West Bengal. Final month, the chief minister warned the centre of launching an even bigger protest if the latter doesn’t cut back the costs of gas.
Elections in Bengal shall be held in eight phases on March 27, April 1, 6, 10, 17, 22, 26 and 29, making it the longest ever polls within the state. The votes shall be counted on Could 2.
