DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The sports activities card business is marveling at a report sale that passed off over the weekend. At $4.6 million, the most costly basketball card ever bought is now a signed Luka Doncic rookie card that includes the NBA Logoman patch from a game-worn Dallas Mavericks jersey.
Collector Nick Fiorello purchased the 1-of-1 card on Feb.28, which is second in all time in sports activities playing cards to a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card that bought for $5.2 million. It was first bought for $2.eight million in April of 2018. It then grew to become the most important recognized sale of all time in January of 2021 when Rob Gough bought it for $5.2 million, based on actionnetwork.com.

Quantity three on the coveted listing isa 2009 Mike Trout Superfractor that bought for $3.9 million. It’s adopted by a Honus Wagner 1909-11 T206, which bought for $3.7 million to actual property mogul Kurt Rappaport again in December.
Doncic is the Slovenian-born star who was the favourite to win MVP coming into the season however ended up ending fourth in 2020.
