Heavy thunderstorms cause flooding in Musina

Areas of Musina in Limpopo are flooding after heavy thunderstorms on Monday, February 22. Authorities have issued warnings to keep away from driving, as many roads are fully submerged or severely broken.

‘The heavy thunderstorms have brought on havoc in some elements of Musina. Different areas should not have electrical energy whereas others are inaccessible,’ the Musina Municipality wrote on Facebook.

‘Dad and mom are suggested to maintain their faculty youngsters at dwelling till it’s protected to maneuver round. Any catastrophe must be reported to your ward councillors or our Catastrophe Administration Staff led by Mr Ravhuanzwo (0794910221) or Mr Mokobi (0794910322),’ the Municipality added.

The city recorded as much as 200mm of rain in some areas on Monday.

In keeping with Weather.com, no extra thunderstorms are anticipated for the province on Tuesday. Musina is forecast to have a cloudy morning with solar within the afternoon, and solely 7% likelihood of precipitation.

Residents have taken to social media to share footage of roads and bridges which have flooded.
